News:
Prof. Tu has just received a summer fellowship
(2006) from a combined DOE and NSF program to lead a
FaST (Faculty and Student) team to work for ten weeks this summer at
Brookhaven National Laboratory. Our team was selected to give both a poster (Poster)
and a oral presentation.
Prof. Tu has been awarded a CUNY Collaborative
grant to work with Prof. Ren of Hunter College on charge/spin dynamics in low
dimensional systems (August 2006).
Prof. Tu was awarded a DOE/BNL grant to study
low dimensional electron systems (February 2007).
Prof. Tu et. al. received a
Technology
for Teaching Award from Hewlett Packard (May 2007).
A new magneto-spectroscopy setup with a 10T
superconducting magnet has been
commissioned under the direction of Prof. Tu at the U4IR beam-line of National
Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratories (August 2007).

(7 lbs and 19.5") was born to
Prof. Tu and his wife Prof. Q. Fan (August 6, 2007).
Prof. Tu (PI) and Prof. Tamargo (co-PI) has been
awarded an NSF grant to study the optical properties of CdMgTe. (September 2007).
Prof. Tu has been promoted to the rank of
Associate Professor of physics (January 2008).
